On the night of Friday, October 28, 2005, PIP members Diane, Kieran, and Todd investigated a building in Montogomery County, PA, which was purported to be occupied by the spirit of a monk. At the request of the building's owner, the building and its location will remain anonymous.

At least two people have reported to have heard "monastic" chanting, and others, including the building's owner, have experienced the otherworldly presence, both visually and tactually. Curiosity about the monk's identity prompted the owner to seek the help of PIP.

Armed with its usual investigatory equipment -- video and digital cameras, tape recorder, compasses, etc., the group set out to see if any trace of the spirit could be detected.

Diane was overwhemed by the feeling of someone close by. She felt what she described as "a palpable energy" in the building -- particularly on the second floor. Attempting to procure an EVP, she sat alone in a room and asked several questions, while Kieran and Todd set their video cameras up in another area and walked about the establishment, taking pictures with their digital cameras whenever they sensed there might be something -- a presense unable to be seen by the naked eye -- that would be visible on a digital photograph.

Kieran brought a computer on the investigation; therefore, after having snapped myriad pictures, he set about downloading them onto the computer in order to examine the results. The video tape would have to wait until it could be examined thoroughly sometime after the investigation .

Much to the delight of the group, many of the photos contained orbs. One photo, in fact, showed a face and what appears to be a hood around the face.

On the audio tape, what appears to be the word "yes" can be heard in response to questions "Are you always here?"and (Diane believes her spirit guide is a monk named Stephen) "Are you and my spirit guide in the same order?"

Upon inspecting their video tape, Diane and Kieran discovered two orbs -- one, at 55 minutes, the other at 1 hour, 17 minutes -- travel from one side of the room towards the other.

Throughout the entire investigation, Diane and the proprietor of the establishment could feel someone touching their hair and heads.

The investigation was an exciting one which bore fruit.

Epilogue: Since the investigation, the spirit has been much, much less active. We can only assume that the spirit simply wanted his presence validated.
